Bird Collage Birthday Card
Sunday, August 30th, 2009I tried to post this earlier today, but my laptop started typing it’s own language. THAT gave me a start, and I thought ‘here we go’. However, after restarting my keypad is acting normally again. Whew. On the other hand, Snow Leopard has just been released, and oh - how I covet a new MacBook.

This is a simple card made using an image from Stampin’ Up’s Garden Collage. I love the soft look when some images are coloured with chalks, and this one is no exception.
Blue sky and sunshine in the forecast again today - woo hoo! Thanks for stopping by.
ATC - Grow (SB)
Saturday, August 29th, 2009Today’s post is to share one of the ATC’s that Sue made for me for one of our monthly mailings …
She always puts such fun little elements on her ATC’s - I love getting them.
I just got her September envelope in the mail yesterday (and I thought I was early for a change) yet the mailman brought me her envelope. I have to figure out how to take pictures of the incredible project she made for me - it’s a little paper bag book that will knock your socks off.
Meanwhile, we are enjoying yet another beautiful sunny day - thanks for stopping by!

Sweet Butterfly Card
Thursday, August 27th, 2009There is a new sketch challenge over at Split Coast, (SC243) so I thought I’d give it a whirl. It was out of my comfort zone — I mean, there was a TRIANGLE shape in there! But I’m glad I did it:
I did end up moving the triangle piece under the rose border though — I didn’t want to cover up that pretty rose paper! The Whispers butterfly was stamped on lightly patterned pink paper and gold embossed. Colour was added with Twinkling H2O’s.
The detail shot:
All in all, it turned out to be a pretty card! Now … I cut a square in half to get the triangle for the sketch and now I have a leftover triangle piece. I’m betting it’s enough to come up with a 2nd card using the same sketch and papers. I’ve got my thinking cap on for a focal image so it is a little different than this one.
ANOTHER sunny summer day here — we are on a roll! Thanks for stopping by today.
Lighthouse Card
Wednesday, August 26th, 2009My Mom wanted some masculine cards to keep on hand, so this is one I made for her …
Another CAS card (Clean And Simple) … stamped in black and the colour was added with water colour crayons and a wet brush. Stamp is one I’ve had for several years; it’s by Stampendous.
Woo Hoo - another summer day here. We are on a 3 day roll!! Thanks for stopping by today.
ATC - Each Flower
Tuesday, August 25th, 2009This is an ATC (Artist Trading Card) that I made for Sue …
It was a beautiful summer day here yesterday … and another one in the forecast for today. Yeah!!!!! Finally we are getting some real summer weather! I was shopping for ‘flourish’ stamps yesterday, for Heather’s wedding invites. Don’t know that we found the perfect ones yet, so more online browsing is in store for me today. Darn, ha ha.

Coffee Cup Card
Monday, August 24th, 2009I just loved the sketch at Split Coast a couple of weeks ago ( SC241) … I can just see a ton of uses for it! Here is another card I made with it - unfortunately the pretty blue is all washed out in the photo.
The coffee cup, steam and coffee beans are from an older set by Stampin’ Up - Espress Yourself. I loved the funky look of it, but have to admit that I haven’t used it all that much. I plan on getting it out a lot more! I stamped the cup on a scrap of the blue paper, and cut out the center portion to glue over the brown image on the top white panel. Then I used Diamond Glaze on the heart and the coffee beans to give them some shine. This is one of those cards that is just WAY prettier in real life. It’s just so washed out in photos (and I took about 6!!!).
Thanks for stopping by - have a great day.
Kinda Poopy
Sunday, August 23rd, 2009I have had these digital images (by Mindy Terasawa ) for a couple of years. Every now and then they come in really handy to make a card with:
I printed this A-2 sized card onto glossy photo paper, and inside it says “Sorry things are kinda poopy right now”. I wanted to send a little ‘pick-me-up’ to a friend who could use a smile.
