Flower & Vines card
Monday, June 29th, 2009My friend Debbie bought these flowers at our local scrapbook store, and once we saw how pretty they were out of the package, I picked some up as well!
This is s simple card (my usual, ha ha) - but I like it’s simplicity. I used my Cuttlebug and a Cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the leaf/stems on white cardstock, then swiped over the raised areas and edges of the panel with green dye ink.

Take Flight CT Layouts
Sunday, June 28th, 2009I heard from Shaun last night - this is the weekend for the 200 km “Ride to Conquer Cancer“. He said it was pretty brutal for the first part, but eventually the wind changed and the hills leveled off. And he DID IT!! I’m so proud of him - and his whole team. Between them they raised $17,000.00. Incredible for a group of 19 & 20 year olds who don’t have big corporations to back them. Lots of door-to-door canvassing, family and friend donations, and some companies helping out as well. Thank you to everyone who donated to this very worthy cause. This should be a link to the video clips … RIDE TO CONQUER CANCER
OMGOSH - you have to see what our CT has been doing with my kit “Take Flight“. Amazing!!

Friday, June 26th, 2009Chloe is growing and changing by the day!
Thursday, June 25th, 2009I have a couple of photos to share today. Wow - I sure see a difference in Chloe from last week to this week. This first picture shows Chloe at 11 weeks old … She was ’stealing’ wood from under the tarp. As fast as I could get it from her and put it back, she’d have another. Notice her real PUPPY face profile?
THIS picture was taken yesterday - she is only 11.5 weeks old, but what a change. Notice her more pronounced profile?
Her other ear is up lots of the time, and you can SEE her fur changing on her back. In just a few days all this happened. Ha ha, I have my camera battery charging now - so I don’t miss any of this transformation.

Winterlady’s Father’s Day Layout
Wednesday, June 24th, 2009Our CT Winterlady created this layout using my “Our Dad” background papers and elements, and “Father’s Day Word-Art” 2!
For full credits, see HERE. Note - the word-art has been corrected so that there is no apostrophe in Fathers, she just hasn’t had a chance to re-upload her layout. I wanted to share it anyway! Thanks for stopping by today.

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009Gift Box Insert
Monday, June 22nd, 2009I ordered a bunch of plastic boxes - the kind you purchase note cards in at Hallmark. They LOOK great when filled with cards, but will also help protect the cards when I am giving them as gifts. I wanted to figure out another way to use them, so — without a lot of time — this is what I came up with:
I attached this to the inside cover of the box (remember they are completely clear) so it showed through the plastic. I added the little gifts to the box base (gift-card, photo of a gift that is “on it’s way”, and I found I could even fit a wrapped Kit Kat chocolate bar inside!!) and put this decorated lid. The intent was then to tie it up with some raffia - it was for Father’s Day and I wanted something more masculine than ribbon - but it didn’t need anything.
Oh, this insert was done digitally (remember I was short on time) but could also be made using traditional paper scrapping supplies. While a whole wrap - top, bottom & sides - would be a nice way to present the cards, I like the idea of being able to SEE the cards through the plastic. That way the recipient can see that they are all different (my usual) or all the same (every so often I do that) from the outside. I doubt I will use this type of insert for card gifts, but since I have quite a few of these boxes I thought it would be fun to find another use for them. The bonus? This is reusable for another gift another time!!
I used my kit “Take Flight” for most of the insert … the flourishes are from a kit I’m discontinuing today. Take Flight can be found HERE:

Father’s Day Hybrid Card
Sunday, June 21st, 2009I used my Our Dad Paper Pack and Father’s Day Word-Art 2 to create this hybrid card:
First I sized the panels for the Nestabilities dies, and created a 4.25 x 5.75″ panel using a couple of the backgrounds and stitching by Manuella Zimmermann @ ScrapbookGraphics. I printed these out on a sheet of matte photo paper:
After cutting out my dies, I inked all the edges and added 2 sheer stickers to the base card panel:
Finally, I assembled the pieces with 2 faced tape, and added 2 brads before attaching to the folded 4.5 x 6″ white card.
