Little Miss Green

Sunday, May 31st, 2009

From the moment she was born, until our daughter and fiance brought her home … she was Miss Green. Today she is Chloe (I hope I spelled it right!). Isn’t she beautiful? And LOOK at the size of those FEET! OMGosh.

I doubt there will be much sleep in their house tonight as this is the first time she has been away from her siblings and home. I remember those days well … anyone who has brought home a puppy and decided it would spend it’s nights in a crate and not in bed with you, will remember those days. I don’t envy them at all but it will be SO worth it!

Chloe is a Guardian Angel Shepherds  puppy - and she is going to be magnificent.

Artist Trading Card - “Live Life”

Saturday, May 30th, 2009

They are doing a ‘controlled burn’ in the mountains today, so it’s a little smoky out there. Sometimes it smells like campfire and is quite enjoyable! Saw a bear yesterday, but from the road it was hard to tell for sure what kind. It LOOKED like a young grizzly because of the shoulder hump — but I don’t know enough about bears to know for sure. At any rate, that was pretty cool. Even better that it was a good distance from the highway and safe from what we refer to as “stupid tourists”.

**Edited to add: It WAS a grizzly - and others reported it besides us. One was a park ranger, who was able to get a much better look, and has a much better knowledge base.

This was one of the ATC’s I sent to Sue last month. The butterfly is from a new Cuttlebug die/embossing folder set that I’m just crazy about. I have die cut  butterflies on everything these days, LOL.

Printable Father’s Day Cards

Thursday, May 28th, 2009

These cards print with our exclusive “cut and fold” templates. Simply choose and print! Each of the two cards have decorated insides as well. I like to print my cards on glossy photo paper, and the inserts on white printer paper. After following the template for cutting and folding, I simply attach the insert inside the folded card with 2 small bits of 2-faced tape.

Cooper - Right Side

Tuesday, May 26th, 2009

Here is the right hand side to the layout spread I did of our little rescue dog - Cooper:

Cooper 2

Brandi has always loved to snooze in Sasha’s kennel. Now Cooper crawls in and sleeps beside her. It cracks me up - those two sweet heads sticking out of the kennel. We still have to figure out how to get them all in the vehicle when we have cargo etc … but he didn’t mind snuggling up with the other two for the first long ride. How sweet is that?

The top center photo shows what I came home to the first day I left him in his crate. He had SHREDDED the bed - stuffing everywhere. I felt bad that he was so unhappy, but he is going to have to get used to the idea that we WILL come back. His crate is butted right up against Sasha’s kennel, so I’m guessing she was NOT AMUSED at his frantic antics. Cooper now has a towel in there and he has not shredded or torn it at all. He still does not like going in his crate, but we will continue to work with him on that.

And the bottom center photo shows Gregg with Cooper, Sasha and Brandi — I love this picture.

Meet Cooper!

Monday, May 25th, 2009

YAY - I finally got the pictures downloaded and a scrapbook spread finished of our new family member. Once I got going, I had to laugh - I mainly have pictures of him sleeping! The main picture is one my friend Debbie took for me. He is so FAST, and whenever I get the camera out to take a picture he comes running over to me. His ’sits’ last about a second, so not enough time to focus the camera.

This is the left side:

Cooper 1

He is SUCH a cracker … he runs around with his toys (he LOVES toys) and deposits them all over the house. If I go around and pick them up, he starts again. Cooper is such a happy boy too - but he has stopped being HAPPY at 5:30 or 6 in the morning which is GREAT. Now he is HAPPY at 7am — and that works just fine for me. Yesterday for the first time, he and Brandi really got wrestling and playing out in the yard. They had so much fun together and it was a blast to watch.

I’ll post the other side of the spread tomorrow.

Iris Card

Sunday, May 24th, 2009

I have had this stamp for years. Like over 15 years!! It’s by Hero Arts, and I remember stamping it in the center of a blank card in rainbow ink and being thrilled with my finished card. These days, I hardly EVER stamp right on a blank card … there are always layers!

Iris Card

I stamped the image with Memories blank ink, heat set it (just in case), then coloured the image with water colour crayons and a damp paintbrush. I used a Nestabilities die to cutthe oval and emboss the edge. If you look closely at the top picture, you will also see embossed lines around the edge of the blue paper panel. I used my Scor-Pal to create those. A closer look:

Hopefully soon we will have blooming flowers in OUR flower bed!
