Kindred Spirits Sneak Peek

Thursday, April 30th, 2009

Tomorrow “Kindred Spirits” goes live at E-scapeandscrap. I am SO excited - this was such a fun project to work on. Julie put together this great sneak peak preview, and since she put it in the newsletter this week I know she won’t mind me sharing it with you here …

Kindred Spirits Sneak Peek

Just LOOK at the colours! I know that it isn’t cold, snowy and blowy EVERYWHERE - it’s not even supposed to be cold, snowy or blowy HERE this time of year. But it is, and I’m SO craving flowers and green growing things. So I am presently addicted to the colours in this palette.

I won’t go into too much detail, but Kindred Spirits will include a series of digital ‘pre-done card blanks’ in the most popular card sizes. You can print off a stack, add to them from your scrapbooking embellishments, stamp on them, OR - add word-art and digital elements before printing. Or both! A true Hybrid Cad kit –  AND you will also be able to purchase coordinating word-art, elements AND the papers at the full 12×12″ size! Fun FUN FUN!!!

Thanks for stopping by today, and remember our sale starts tomorrow!

Easter - Right Side & NSD Info

Wednesday, April 29th, 2009

This is the right side of our Easter layout spread …

Easter - Left side

I used our J2K kit “Wherever You Go“, as well as Ingeborgs “Paint Your Easter” elements. Remember the LO I did with our daughter’s bunny in it? Well when I saw the picture of little Shae in her bunny coat … I thought the LO would be perfect with Shae in it too! Just one of the joys of digital scrapbooking is how EASY it is to change things up.  I swapped out the photos, changed the text from Dusty to Shae .. and …

Bunny Shae

Julie wanted the designers to share this info with as many people as we could, so … I’m thinking my blog is a great place to start!  This is copied and pasted from the Escapeandscrap newsletter on Tuesday:

“In honor of National Scrapbook Day our boutique will have the following categories marked down 25%:  Paper packs, mini kits, Spring/Summer kits, Kits, Alphabets, Elements, Brushes and Stamps, quick pages and templates.
All orders over $25 can save an extra 25%!
Use coupon code:  NSD Savings
Coupon is only valid on orders of $25 or more.  The following categories are exempt from this coupon code: gift certificates, Just Imagery Line, fonts and Commercial Use products.
Coupon is valid from  May 1 - 5, 2009

So WE are starting our sale a day ahead of National Scrapbook Day. Yeah. Also - our designer collaboration Kindred Spirits will be live on May 1st as well. Can’t wait for that reveal!! Our CT (creative team) loved working on some samples for you, so that was great to hear.

Thanks for stopping by today!

Easter

Tuesday, April 28th, 2009

Ok this is just weird. I added this post earlier this morning. Checked that it uploaded OK and everything. Later on it disappeared, and only part of it was saved in my drafts folder. Hmmmm … computer gremlins at work?

This is the left side of my 2 page Easter spread. Shae had just discovered stairs, so she loved the ones in our great room. I can’t tell you how often she went up them (and was carried back down). Of course someone had to be right with her, so her Grandma and her Daddy got LOTS of exercise!  Grin.

I used our J2K kit “Wherever You Go“, as well as Ingeborgs “Paint Your Easter” elements.

Cupcake Card

Monday, April 27th, 2009

This little tray of cupcakes is a stamp I found in the bargain bin at Michaels.  :-)   It was just begging to be coloured with Copic markers, don’t you think?

I was able to work with my BOYZ kit a little this weekend. I thought a Quick Page Album might be fun, so I will post the preview once it’s done and in the boutique.

Also, lots of excitement over at E-scapeandscrap regarding National Scrapbook Day. I thought it was May 1st, but it is actually May 2nd. Shows how important the day is to me, LOL. Sort of makes me shake my head … but … being in the industry I must be supportive. Yes. The designers have finished with their portions of this special hybrid project and the creative team will be working on samples now. I have one started, so need to make time in the next couple of days to get it finished and photos taken of it too. I AM excited about this collaborative effort - I think you are all going to just love it as much as we do! Enough teasing — thanks for stopping by today!

Pride and Joy - facing page

Sunday, April 26th, 2009

This is the right side of yesterday’s layout … created using my new BOYZ kit. Remember the kit is on sale for just 99 cents, until midnight tonight!

Pride and Joy - his & mine

Saturday, April 25th, 2009

I managed to scrap the pictures of our son and his bike - I’m so pleased! I haven’t actually worked with many masculine kits, so this was a little out of my element. Hey, even creating it felt a little different. But I’m pleased with how the kit turned out, and even more pleased it worked so well with the photos.. Hope he is too!

Pride and joy

I used the font Annonce for the title and ‘his” & ‘mine’.  I did have to stretch it a little so it wasn’t so squate - then I added a chipboard style (by Mitia) and adjusted the colour on 2 ‘his’ and ‘mine’.  The rest of the layout was made with my new kit BOYZ. (Remember it’s on sale for 99 cents this weekend!)

BOYZ - Digital Scrapbooking Kit

Friday, April 24th, 2009

Woo Hoo - I have a new kit in the boutique!! BOYZ will be going in the Nifty 99 sale this weekend, so you can pick it up for 99 cents from midnight Friday until midnight Sunday. Then it will be at it’s regular price of $4.00.

Boyz - Digital Scrapbooking Kit

Our DS came by this week (before it SNOWED) with his new motor-bike. I took pictures, as I hadn’t seen it before - and downloaded them this morning. When I went to create a layout — I didn’t have any papers that would work. One thing lead to another … and now I have a whole kit done! Hopefully tomorrow I can get at the layout for his pictures, ha ha. My fingers are really stiff from being at the computer for hours and hours today.  :-}

Thanks for stopping by today.

April Snow

Thursday, April 23rd, 2009

Bah - the snow started here about 2pm yesterday. I took this photo about 7pm and it was STILL coming down. So much for any yardwork this weekend.

I used Ingeborgs Frostbite kit (available at E-scapeandscrap) for the background papers, frame and snow overlay. The snowflakes and snow trail/swirl are from my “Create a Snowflake” kit, also available in our boutique.

Fonts are Steelfish and CK Cursive. At least I know the snow won’t hang around long. As soon as it warms up a bit it will melt and be gone. That is what is keeping me from staying in bed today.  :-)

Thanks for stopping by today.

Pink Bling Card

Wednesday, April 22nd, 2009

Yesterday I got together with friends and we worked (played) in the studio for the morning. I got a lot done - guess what I was working on? Easter cards. Yes, I do know Easter is over - but I have to get some put away for next year. There never seems to be enough time to make 30 - 50 cards right before they are needed, so I like to have them pretty much done ahead of time. I will leave the assembling until next year though!

I didn’t want to start posting more Easter cards, so here is a quick bright card - made with a 3-d sticker, bling, ribbon and a strip of pretty paper.

I worked late last night getting things ready for our big project to celebrate National Scrapbook Day. It is really coming along! While technology is allowing this group of designers from all over the world to participate … it also has some draw backs. For instance, I was the only one on the same page as Julie. Everyone else interpreted the emailed instructions/vision in a different way and I didn’t realize it until last night. So it’s been a scramble to get it all together, and frustrating for those who spent time creating items that had to be re-worked. Thankfully we all work well as a team, and Kay has done way more than her share in helping out getting this project working the way it should. I’m so excited about it - can’t wait to show you. I even made a FREEBIE, so will be putting it up for you on May first … National Scrapbook Day.

Thanks for stopping by.

Victorian Roses

Tuesday, April 21st, 2009

I found this post, one I meant to put up awhile ago. This was another card I put into my cousin’s card-pack … I love it when I can get stickers AND papers that coordinate. A simple but pretty thank you card!

Victorian Roses Card

On a side note … have you heard of “The Ride to Conquer Cancer“?  This is a 200 km bike journey in the Rockey Mountains, June 27 & 28 2009. My son and his friends are going to participate in it, so are collecting sponsor donations to benefit the cause. They each have to raise $2500 to participate - so every little bit you can contribute will help. Remember what a worthy cause this is! I am so proud of these young men, undertaking something like this to help others. I wish I could give you a direct link to their team, but the site doesn’t seem to allow that.

Follow the above link to the main site, then click on Alberta below the main image. It may take a few seconds for the provinces to show up.  On the left side, under “Welcome Visitors”, click on the DONATE button. (I’m trying to hotlink these just in case they start to work - try clicking directly on the DONATE link before you go to the main site link and see).

You will need to “Search for Participant” — type in   SHAUN AICKEN   and you will get to his ‘page’. Their team is Team Rainbow Trout. :-)  If you click on the bright yellow “Sponsor Shaun Aicken” button that will take you to where you can make your donation. Thanks so much for taking the time to read this, and hopefully contribute to helping defeat the disease. I will be adding this to many of my posts between now and June, to help Team Rainbow Trout meet their goal and participate in the “Ride to Conquer Cancer“.

Thanks for stopping by today.
