Exciting News

Tuesday, December 30th, 2008

On a beach in Costa Rica, at sunset on Christmas Eve … Phil proposed to Heather! We got to see them today for the first time (they returned last night) so here is a photo of the happy couple and the beautiful ring he surprised her with.

Heather & Phil

I used my 4×6 QuickClick #4 for this 4×6 layout, flipping and rotating it to get the picture layers where I wanted them. The background papers are from the J2K kit - “With This Ring” at E-scapeandscrap.

Missing Header!

Sunday, December 28th, 2008

Well I don’t know what I did wrong, but my new blog header is MIA. I will have to wait until we get back to the city to re-upload the file. Sorry about the big blue box!

It’s lightly snowing here in the mountains, and by the look of the tail lights across the valley - lots of people are coming up to ski. Should be a beautiful day for any outdoor activities. Whatever YOU do today, have a good one.

Edited January 29th - I can NOT figure out what is wrong with my blog header. I can’t get any of the previous headers to load either, so until I can find someone to help me figure out what is wrong, I won’t post anything else. Sorry about that!

Edited later on the 29th - Ta Da!  I somehow deleted a ‘ in the update field. I’m SO impressed that I figured it out (pats self on back). Now I can post, but first I need to create something!

ATC - Season of White

Saturday, December 27th, 2008

Oh, it’s just been far too long since I sat and played. Miranda, one of the new designers at E-scapeandscrap, has a kit in the boutique called “Winter Wonderland”. It has this darling caribou (?), and word-art as well as some yummy background papers. I used her frame, but the background on this ATC is a photograph of one of our Christmas Tree ornaments.

The glittery branch, keys and string are also from Miranda’s kit, and I have used it several times already!

Stay warm, and thanks for stopping by today!

Disney Magic

Wednesday, December 24th, 2008

Miranda is new to the E-scapeandscrap Design Team, and has some wonderful items in the boutique. She used my “Bright Christmas” kit to create this fun layout:

I love the way she “clusters” her embellishments. Full credits can be found HERE.

ATC - Believe

Tuesday, December 23rd, 2008

I found this new font (Black Oak) and one thing led to another …

ATC - Believe

I used my “Santa’s Lap Revisited” kit for most of this ATC. The mesh is from my Bright Christmas kit. As I mentioned, the font is called Black Oak and I downloaded it (and several others) from Font Space.

Christmas Cookies

Sunday, December 21st, 2008

Terry N did this LO, and I had to share it with you as it’s done my favourite way. Wonderful photos, very little embellishment.

On a side note, I got an early Christmas present. A bread machine! I actually got it 2 weeks ago, and it’s been going pretty steady ever since. I have given fresh (warm) loaves of bread on pretty plates (with a stick of butter) as gifts - and everyone seems as excited about home made bread as we are. This morning I am going to try my hand at dinner rolls. If I can get those figured out, cinnamon buns are next on the list. Mmmmmmm.  This is the reason Gregg gave me my gift early, so I could play with it and get some different recipes figured out before everyone comes for Christmas.

It’s minus 27 (or 18 below for my American friends) this morning. My poor hounds would love to go for a walk, but it’s still just too cold. No way I want them to freeze up and have to carry them home! Stay warm and cozy, wherever you are.

Punched Christmas Wreath

I received this BEAUTIFUL punched Christmas card from my DF Jane … and just had to share it with you.

Isn’t it something?? THANKS, JANE!!

Have a wonderful Saturday - it’s minus 29 here, so we’re doing what we can to stay warm. This cold snap has gone on MORE than long enough, thank you very much. Here’s hoping to some milder temperatures SOON.

Christmas Card With Stickers

Friday, December 19th, 2008

I found these cute 3-d stickers at Michaels last year, so used them to make a couple of Christmas cards.

The gold “Merry Christmas” below the sticker panel is also a sticker! Paper Pastimes here in Calgary carries a great selection of these metallic stickers.

Botanical Thank You Cards

Tuesday, December 16th, 2008

This was an image a friend let me borrow for an evening, a few years ago and I finally got the panels made into cards. I think it looks so vintage stamped on the textured card!
