There is a new sketch at the Clean and Simple Stamping blog (see my blog roll for a link), & I actually got a card made AND photographed last night. :-) However, I haven’t uploaded it yet and since I really want to share the Altered Friendship Mini ALbum I will post my FTL106 card next week.

These 2 pages follow yesterday’s post, and the two tags are still in their pockets. I wish you could get a better idea of the texture and glimmer of this beautiful glitter paper. For details on the supplies, you can check out yesterday’s post (September 3 2010)

Here are the tags out of their pockets …

And here is the reverse side of both tags:

I will share the next pages in tomorrow’s post.

I got a tremendous amount of card making done yesterday — I’m so pleased! A wedding card, a sympathy card, a birthday card, the FTL106 card all done and I got almost 20 Fall themed cards ready to assemble this weekend. My realtor friend asked for 35 Fall themed cards this year instead of Thanksgiving ones.

I also got the Bridal Shower invitations started … well, all the fiddly stuff. A font chosen, the word sizing, and then the test prints — of which there were like a dozen. Lots of little adjustments here and there to make everything line up the way I want them to. This morning I need to test print a couple on the actual card stock as G wants the wording in purple and I want that to match the purple in the pansy I’ll be stamping on each one.

Sounds like a crafty weekend in store for me! Thanks for stopping by today.

I have wanted to do a Mini-Album for a long time. While I love the idea of a Mini-Album, I didn’t want to put photos in it. Also, I didn’t necessarily want to keep it for myself. So I decided to do what I’m calling an ALTERED MINI — and made one for my friend Sue. It’s what I sent her for our August ‘first of the month’ exchange. (I’m still doing the ‘12 Tags of 2010′, but this was instead of the August tag which she will get this month). Sue doesn’t really scrapbook either, so sending her a Mini-Album wouldn’t be that appealing.

There are a LOT of photos of this project, so I decided to break it down over a few days. I used an ENVELOPE book format - where the pages are #10 business envelopes. I got the idea from Laura at Following The Paper Trail (link is on my Blog Roll). She does AMAZING Mini-Albums.

Here is the cover of my first ALTERED-MINI:

The beaded shaker frame on the cover is by K&Co, and the gorgeous ribbon was on one of H’s shower gifts. I recycled it since it is just soooooo pretty. Patterned paper is DCWV’s ‘The Sorbet Stack’. Pretty, cheerful colours and most of the sheets have GLITTER embedded in them. Unfortunately the glitter doesn’t show well in these web photos. Oh, and it’s really HEAVY paper - more like card stock so everything is nice and sturdy. I used a heavy chipboard for the covers, and each of the ‘pages’ are actually pockets that hold decorated tags. The pockets were formed by cutting the ends off the envelopes.

The next photo shows the first pages, and the tag pockets. The envelopes are off-set so the left hand pocket is shorter than the one on the right. Everything is covered with the glitter card stock, and I used a ton of embellishments from my stash. I didn’t have the Stampin’ Up tab punch when I made this album, but I had figured out a shape and made an SVG out of it so I could Cricut-cut some tabs. The pink card stock is by Stampin’ Up, and matched perfectly. The Top Note die was used to create the flaps that hold the yellow tag.

The following photo shows the tags out of their pockets — some of them are completely plain and that is where people would normally add a photo. I would have decorated both sides of the tags except this glitter card stock was so pretty I wanted it to speak for itself.

The next photo shows the reverse of the same tags. I used some of my word-art, graphics from Lettering Delights and more embellishments to make them all coordinate.

This was SUCH a fun project — I absolutely loved working on it and want to make more of these little treasures. (This one is about 4×6). However not until after I get the 35 bridal shower invitation order done, and the 45 Thanksgiving card order, and then the stuff for the Christmas Craft Sale. :-) I will post the next page from this Altered-Mini tomorrow!

Thanks for stopping by - happy Friday!

I have a few ’summery’ cards to share, and since our weather is screaming FALL I want to get them posted and out of the way. If I can’t have a summer, I may as well embrace the fall.

This bright and cheery card was made using one of my new paper packs - the ones I found on clearance at Winners. Its such a nice quality and I enjoyed cutting all the different papers up to make cards out of. This floral pattern matched the SU ‘Pink Pirouette” card stock! The label was Cricut cut — I cut a 12×12 sheet of them, so I’d have some on hand for quick cards.

I added some deetail with my Sakura glitter gel pen - I sure get a lot of use out of that pen!! I’m not sure who makes the (clear) stamps - there are no markings on the acetate backing sheet.

Sasha update: Well this seems to be good news! The Vet called yesterday with the results of Sasha’s blood panel, and everything is in the normal range. Sooooooo … Dr. Schell thinks this must have been ‘reactive lymph nodes’, and sparked by her recent vaccine booster. Dr. Schell said it’s just too coincidental that the day after the vaccine Sasha has a big edema around her neck, then the following week her lymph nodes are huge and she is lethargic and ill. Now, it’s unusual for a dog to have a reaction to the ‘kennel cough’ vaccine — but it’s the only thing she had recently. Sasha’s file has been flagged and Dr. Schell doesn’t want to give her any more vaccines.

For the next few days, Sasha is supposed to take it easy (like she can sleep any more than she has been? LOL) and have Chamomile tea infused brown rice (yes, you read that right — brown rice cooked in steeped Chamomile tea) with chicken. Sasha is a pretty happy Collie come meal time, and the other two sit and wait for her to finish so they can scoop any bits left in her bowl. We will aspirate the lymph nodes in a week or so and run another test - just to be sure - but for now, Sasha is out of the woods! What a roller coaster, but we are happy things seem to be working out!

Onto today’s post: Another card made with the SU 2Step Bird Punch. Once I realized I hadn’t used it that much, I made up for lost time. The blue card stock panel has such a pretty sheen to it!

I used a Sizzix die and a Big Shot to cut the scallopy label from white embossed card stock - leftover from H&P’s wedding invites, and a scrap of green patterned paper for the branch.

The bird body was punched out of packaging from a set of Verve Stamps (it’s too pretty to toss in recycling) and the wings out of a scrap of blue pearlized card stock.

I’ve left the inside blank for now, and will add a sentiment when I’m ready to send the card. That way I can personalize it!

Thanks for stopping by today.

Sasha update: Guess what? Our vet doesn’t really think it’s Lymphoma! The swelling at Sasha’s throat - which was the size of a small apple on Saturday - was down to an apricot size when we saw the vet late yesterday afternoon. Dr. Schell said that lymphoma affected nodes don’t shrink down on their own, especially without any steroids. She was hesitant to do a biopsy, thinking since the swelling episode was so recent that we may get a false positive. We can re-evaluate this in 2 weeks.

However there IS something wrong, so now we have to try to figure it out. This morning I discovered that sometime last evening, Sasha (or possibly Brandi???) had ‘lost their dinner’ over in a corner, practically under a chair. I’m not positive that it WAS Sasha — and maybe it could have even been Cooper. So I will be watching all three closely today to see if it happens again. I didn’t know which dog it was, so who to give rice to this morning. I mean, it’s PROBABLY Sasha, but I’m only 60% convinced. Craziness.

We are doing another blood panel for Sasha, also checking her thyroid … but this time it’s going to Pathology. They analyze every cell, which is a much more detailed examination than then can do at a vet’s lab. Hopefully that will tell us something.

Onto today’s post - I combined one of my ‘black and cream’ cards, with the Stampin’ Up Two Step Bird Punch to make this pretty birthday card. I’m sure getting my use out of that bird punch — and still have a couple of cards made with it to share.

Once again, that top panel is reading white in the photo, but it really is CREAM.

Flourish stamp is by Verve and the pretty textured cream folded card is from my stash.

It’s chilly here in the mountains today so last night we opened the bedroom window for her. (We just put a comforter on our bed.) This morning the swelling at her throat isn’t as hard so hopefully she will have a good day. I will be happy to get to the vet tomorrow afternoon and see what she has to say.

Onto todays post … I Cricut-cut the flowers and vase with their layers then popped them off the embossed light orange panel with foam tape.

I did some outlining with my Sakura glitter gel pen. I love that thing. The orange embossed panel is Bazzil Bling card stock and has a neat pearlized sheen. I used an embossing folder, but only on part of the folder. The Scor Pal was used to create the horizontal lines.

I believe this flower cut is on the Beyond Birthday’s cartridge, but if you want to know for sure - leave me a comment and I will look it up for you.

No real change with Sasha, although she had a VERY restless night. Her lips aren’t swollen, but she is very swollen under her jaw. She isn’t wearing her collar at all and when we take her outside she has a harness that doesn’t put any pressure on her neck. She is not up for going for a walk anymore but she does like to go out and sniff around in the yard, and of course it’s her JOB to help me go get the mail. That little walk now takes us almost 10 minutes instead of 4. Oh, this is just sooooooo sad.

Onto today’s post– the colour is really off in this photo … the card stock and ink are called “Bermuda Bay” (a Stampin’ Up colour) and it has more green in it than what shows on this card.

Using this ribbon made me happy for two reasons. One - it matched perfectly, which was a happy surprise. Two - it was a leftover piece and I love USING UP stuff! The embossed edge is a Cuttlebug border embossing folder, and the card is lined with lightweight white card stock.

We heard back from the emerg Vet last night, and while the results aren’t definitive - they do point to Lymphoma. We take Sasha in to see our vet on Monday, and I think the next step may be a biopsy of a lymph node. Her lips aren’t as swollen and droopy today, but her neck is still very swollen and she is moving at a snails pace. I just gave her some yogurt on a plate and she was pretty happy!

This black and white/glitter paper was in one of those paper stacks I found on clearance at Winners awhile back — and I thought it would make a good sympathy card.

I printed the words on the computer, then used a Nestability die to cut it out. Black seemed to fit my mood today.
